Common questions

Can I put conditioner or detangler in the tank?
Plain water is safest. Thicker liquids can clog the nozzle, and anything you put in there ends up on an animal that will lick it.

Will it hurt them?
Not used normally. Slicker pins are fine on most coats with light pressure, but go gently on thin-coated breeds and never force through a matt - cut mats out or have a groomer do it.

Does it work on a heavy double coat?
It helps, but a husky or malamute in full blow-out needs a dedicated undercoat rake as well. This is better for maintenance than for a seasonal moult.
